This is Janathon

It was 10 o’clock in the evening and cold & rainy outside. We’d been for a great meal out and started to get to know Rachel my son’s first really serious girl-friend. She is staying with us for a couple of days before they both go back to Uni.

I was so belly-full of curry that it was a struggle even to lace up my running shoes. Clearly, this run was going to be somewhat less than magnificent. Picture if you will, a stag effortlessly springing across the moorland. Now compare that image to a beached walrus.

There was only 1 reason for going out for a run: “because it’s bloody Janathon, that’s why”. I grumbled as I went out the door.

And of course, as soon as I’d run the first few strides, it was just great. 5K trotted out at a distinctly leisurely pace, I returned soggy & grinning. Because it’s only bloody Janathon!

  1. Grinning is good, now all you need to do is sign up to the Valentines 10 mile Run near Meopham on the 16th February and your journey towards the dark side shall be complete… or something

So glad you morphed from walrus to gazelle once you got out the door. Hooray for Janathon.
