Picking it up


Day 2 of Janathon and, after yesterday’s long run, I thought an early morning recovery run before work would be a good idea. The early morning part didn’t go to plan, however there was time at lunch to get out for a few miles.

Once underway, I felt surprisingly good and decided to try and up the effort. My runs have been fairly “one-paced-ploddy” for the last few weeks. It was very satisfying to feel that at last I could indeed turn it up a notch.

4 miles done. The pace may still have been modest at 9 min/mile but psychologically a big boost to sense that further improvement is achievable.

Just before Christmas a small running group started up in the village and I have enjoyed running with them most Wednesday nights; so there is the strong possibility of another couple of miles later on.
